The Kimball County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. County Highway Superintendent Ben Sauter reported that the Highway Department has been actively hauling gravel and addressing road washouts. The Kimball County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday, June 3, in their capacity as the Board of Equalization to receive updates from Kimball County Assessor Sherry Winstrom. Winstrom reported that there were no tax list corrections requiring board action. However, she presented the 2025 Notice of Valuation Changes, which includes properties identified as overvalued, undervalued or omitted. Average gasoline prices in Nebraska have risen 2.6 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.92 a gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy's survey of 1,150 stations in Nebraska. Average Kimball prices were at $2.97 on Monday, according to an Observer survey. Prices in Nebraska are 2.9 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 34.8 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. On Saturday morning, the emergency service agencies in the area held a training exercise at the Kimball Airport. Volunteers set up a practice accident scene that included a semi truck with a trailer that rolled onto another vehicle, and a school bus that had turned on its side.
